Meet Our Farm Families:

Frog Song Organics & Regional Partners

The Farm Route proudly sources through Frog Song Farms and its trusted network of producers across Florida and the Southeast. Together, these farms help us bring thoughtfully grown, seasonal food from the land to your front door year round.

Frog Song Organics was founded in 2011 by John Bitter and Amy Van Scoik, who have grown the farm alongside their daughters, Coral and Jade. Located in eastern Alachua County near Gainesville, their family farm has been certified organic by Quality Certification Services since 2012.

Frog Song grows seasonal produce, herbs, and flowers directly in the healthy soil they have spent years nurturing. The farm is also home to orchard-grazing hens, pasture-raised pigs, and a kitchen that transforms the harvest into artisanal jams, kimchi, pickles, syrups, and more (coming soon to The Farn Route).

Their commitment to transparency reaches beyond their own fields. Drawing on John’s fourteen years of experience as an organic farm inspector, Frog Song has built a trusted foodshed stretching from the Appalachian Mountains to South Florida. Their partner farms are either certified organic or grow using organic materials and methods, helping provide an abundant harvest throughout the seasons.

At the heart of it all is a simple belief we share: food brings people together, and caring for the way it is grown is some of the most important work we can do.

Honoring Ancestral Growing Practices

Frog Song recognizes that regenerative farming is not a new idea. Its approach draws from ancestral agricultural knowledge rooted in the local Potano and Alachua Seminole peoples, alongside farming traditions developed by cultures around the world. Naming these roots matters—the future of farming is also a continuation of knowledge cultivated over generations.

Building a Stronger
Food Shed

No single farm can grow everything in every season. By working through Frog Song’s network of trusted local and regional producers, we help create a stronger Food Shed—one where farms support one another and families have better access to fresh, responsibly grown food year round.

Back of Tractor Ride

A Shorter Journey to Your Table

Much of the produce found in grocery stores travels thousands of miles before reaching the shelf. The Farm Route shortens that journey by gathering seasonal food closer to home and delivering it during the same week it is harvested. Fewer food miles mean fresher produce, stronger regional farms, and a lighter impact on the earth.

Farming That Gives Back to the Land

Frog Song approaches farming with the belief that caring for the land, the people, and the livelihood of the farm must go hand in hand. Its regenerative practices include:

• Building soil with cover crops, compost, and animal manure
• Controlling weeds through cultivation, hay mulch, and other nonplastic methods
• Rotating grazing animals across the land
• Growing multiple crops through thoughtful planting and relay cropping
• Using untreated, non-GMO seeds and planting stock
• Feeding livestock organic, soy-free feed whenever possible

These methods protect natural resources, encourage biodiversity, and help leave healthier soil and water for future generations.

Honoring Ancestral Growing Practices

Frog Song recognizes that regenerative farming is not a new idea. Its approach draws from ancestral agricultural knowledge rooted in the local Potano and Alachua Seminole peoples, alongside farming traditions developed by cultures around the world. Bellevue Gardens Farm —
Archer, FL

About Us

Bellevue Gardens Organic Farm is a historic, volunteer-run sustainable agriculture site located at 13109 SW 121st Ave, Archer, Florida 32618. Established in the mid-1970s, it is known for producing high-quality organic crops, including specialized winter squashes and watermelons, and has long been a pillar of Florida's organic farming movement

Practices

Farmer Tommy and his Team grow their crops with only organic inputs although they decided to drop their organic certification in 2024 due to the fees associated with inspections/certification. They guarantee their dry-farmed watermelons and all other crops are still farmed the same way they have been growing since the 1970's, with zero synthetic inputs or pesticides.

In 2017 owner Clem Swift came on to the land with hopes of establishing a profitable, small-scale wholesale organic farm. By using organic practices, caring for the soil, and emphasizing quality of their produce, they've been able to do just that!

About Us

Jon Martin is really a fun guy! With a passion for everything mycological, he seeks to take mushrooms to the next level by educating the public, cultivating unique varieties of mushrooms and incorporating them in as many products as he can. From raw mushrooms to teas and kombuchas, Jon is determined for the world to experience the benefits of mushroom superfoods.

Fungi Jon's mushrooms are cultivated from start to finish in his self-designed facility in Orlando, Florida. Sterile technique and frequent sanitation are a must in growing mushrooms. Without it, invasive fungi could ruin production very quickly. He grows in sterile sawdust fruiting bags, and gloves are worn at all points of contact to guarantee successful grows. His substrates mainly consist of  Amish Pure Oak, organic soybean hulls, organic millet and "a tiny bit of Organic rye for spawn". Absolutely NO wheat or straw is used in production!

Practices

Fungi Jon grows using 100% non-GMO, organic materials despite the extra cost to produce the best mushrooms possible. His goal is to become third-party certified organic

About Us

We are an organic vegetable farm located in Clearwater, Florida. On our 6 acre farm, we grow vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruit, and microgreens organically without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. It was always a requirement of ours from the very beginning to grow organically because we believe there is no other way to do it. The first plants went into the ground spring of 2013, and our first CSA season was in the fall of 2013.

Since then, we have grown into an abundant and flourishing farming operation providing fresh, local, organic food to our community. We have partnered up with other local farms and sell a growing assortment of pasture-raised chicken, eggs, mushrooms, baked and canned goods, and grass-fed/grass-finished beef. As a result, our CSA community has grown quite strong as we go into our 9th season! We sell to several local restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. In addition, we are at two green markets in Pinellas county, the Saturday Morning Market in Downtown St. Petersburg and the Downtown Dunedin Market.

Our loyal customers give us the drive to keep providing the highest quality of produce, especially when we get to see firsthand the positive impact it has had on our community. We intend to provide our customers with nutrient-dense food, loving service, and educational information.

Practices

Life Farms practices Regenerative Farming, growing all produce with only organically approved materials, including compost and manure. No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are used.

About Us

Marcinek Farms is a small, family, niche market farm that we started in 2015 as a family homestead.  We raise Wagyu beef, Berkshire pork, poultry on pasture, free range eggs, have bees for honey, and grow some fruits and vegetables.  We also focus on value added products- cured and smoked meats and tallow skin care products.  We utilize regenerative and organic principles.  We sell direct to customers in our community at farmer's markets and through a farm to table food truck that we operate.

Practices

Marcinek Farms and Farm Services, LLC is a small developing family homestead in Jonesville, FL. We are focused on producing quality food for our family and for market. We focus on heritage livestock breeds and heirloom vegetable varieties and use organic and sustainable agricultural practices. No chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides are used. All of our livestock is free range on pasture and woodland and is antibiotic and hormone free.

We manage our bees with respect and with the bees' best interests in mind.  The hives are not moved around chasing different flowers for specific flavors- our bees produce wildflower honey from whatever is blooming in their vicinity and we do not use any herbicides or pesticides on our farm.  We minimize how often we enter the hives, leaving them to do what they do best.  When we harvest we leave the bees enough honey so that they can make it through the season naturally (especially in winter), minimizing or eliminating the need for feeding the bees an unnatural diet (sugar water).  The harvested honey is filtered and bottled in glass jars, providing a natural, raw honey product.

Mud Rooster's Local Honey (Not Certified Organic)
Longwood, FL

Contact: Dave Dequasie

Address: 223 N Ronald Reagan Blvd. Longwood, FL, 32750

About Us

Started in 2014, Mud Rooster's Honey began as a hobby by musician David DeQuasie. Upon noticing an abundance of honey bees attending to the wildflowers in his backyard, David wondered what it would be like to take up beekeeping. It wasn't long before his passion for nature revealed more honey than one could hope for.

Insisting that his bee yards never exceed more hives than nature can sustain, the bees are never sugar fed, assuring that the honey consists purely of the nectar from the local floral sources and is not contaminated with pesticides.

The honey is truly Raw and Unfiltered meaning that it is never heated and has not been run through filtering devices. The honey is bottled strait from the comb with the pollen content left fully intact. As a result every harvest is noticeably different in both flavor and hue.

You can catch David with his blues band, Mud Rooster, most weekends playing central Florida's music venues. Enjoy!
