Community Supported Agriculture
Community Supported Agriculture—commonly called a CSA—connects you more closely with the farms and farmers growing your food. Through The Farm Route CSA, members receive a weekly share of fresh, seasonal produce sourced from trusted local and regional farms and delivered directly to their door. Order to harvest, reserve your share today
Flexible Farm Shares
The Farm Route is a flexible, weekly Community Supported Agriculture program serving Brooksville and surrounding communities. Instead of paying for an entire growing season upfront, members subscribe and pay weekly for seasonal produce from trusted local and regional farms.
Help us build a stronger, more responsible local food system.
What is

Community Supported Agriculture
Eating Local
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It creates a closer, more sustainable food network by connecting customers with the farms and farmers growing their food. Whenever possible, choosing locally grown food reduces the need for produce to travel thousands of miles or be picked well before peak ripeness. Harvesting closer to delivery can mean fresher, more nutrient-rich produce that stays fresh longer in your kitchen.
Helps Farmers
Plan Harvest
CSA members receive a regular share of fresh, seasonal food while helping farms plan their harvests around real community demand. This provides farmers with more predictable orders and gives members convenient access to produce harvested close to its peak.

Building a Food Shed
The Farm Route expands the traditional CSA model by bringing products from multiple trusted farms together in one carefully planned weekly share. This builds what we call a Food Shed which is a trusted network of farmers who provide food year round to their local and regional communities.
5.Enjoy Your Harvest and Exchange Your Crate
Unpack your fresh produce, enjoy your planed your meals, and enjoy the week’s seasonal harvest.
Your order arrives in a reusable Farm Route crate. Before your next delivery, place the empty crate in your designated delivery location and day. We will collect it when we arrive and leave a clean crate filled with your new weekly share.
This simple crate exchange helps reduce disposable packaging while keeping the journey moving—from the farms, to our packing team, to your front door, and back again.
Member Hub
4. We Collect, Pack & Deliver Your Share
The Farm Route collects the freshly prepared produce from our farm partners, brings everything together, and carefully packs each member’s selected farm share.
A few days after the ordering deadline, your share is delivered directly to your designated location in our active Brooksville-area delivery zone.
3. Your Order Guides the Harvest
After weekly orders close, The Farm Route confirms the quantities needed with our farm partners. Farmers then harvest and prepare produce according to actual member demand.
This order-to-harvest approach helps deliver fresher seasonal food, gives participating farms more predictable orders, and reduces unnecessary harvesting and food waste.
2. Select One of Two Weekly Menus
Each week, members choose between two menus featuring produce available from our farm partners.
Your selection must be submitted by Friday at 11:59 PM. If you do not select a menu by the deadline, The Farm Route will choose one of the two menus for you. Your weekly membership and normal charge will continue.
This ensures every active member remains included in the week’s farm orders—even during a busy week when making a selection slips their mind.
1. Choose Your Weekly Farm Share
Select the share size that fits your household, gathering, restaurant, or community organization. Your share membership will be delivered or set for pick up weekly and will continue weekly until you pause, place it on an approved vacation hold, or cancel according to our membership policy.
The Farm Route CSA Guide
How Our CSA Works

Meet Your Farmers:
The Farm Route works with a growing network of trusted local and regional farms. We look for partners committed to organic, regenerative, or otherwise responsible growing practices. Working with multiple farms allows us to offer greater seasonal variety while directing more customer demand toward the people growing our food. Product availability will naturally change with the seasons, growing conditions, and each farm’s harvest.

A Return to the Milkman:
Handcrafted Wooden Crates
Built by Hand Made to Return
The Farm Route’s produce crates are handcrafted from carefully selected reclaimed pallet wood and locally available materials. Each crate gives useful wood a second life while creating a durable piece designed to return week after week.
Our crate exchange is inspired by the American milkman—a simple neighborhood system built around delivery, collection and reuse. At their best, return systems recovered approximately 80% or more of their containers. Historical milk bottles averaged about 22 trips before being lost, broken or repurposed. Instead of constantly producing disposable packaging, the same container served families again and again.
This slow, intentional practice honors the resourcefulness found in Indigenous traditions and among American farmers, homesteaders, woodworkers and craftspeople: use what is available, build only what is needed and make it well. It reduces waste and overproduction while creating meaningful paid work for local makers.
CSA members receive two handcrafted crates at a deeply discounted member price. One crate is yours to keep forever. The second remains part of The Farm Route’s weekly exchange system. On delivery day, leave the exchange crate outside, and we will collect it and replace it with a clean crate filled with your next harvest. Additional handcrafted crates will be available at full price in our store.
Built locally. Returned weekly. Made to last.
Meal Planning Guide
Your box arrives with more than fresh produce—it comes with a practical plan for using it. Each weekly guide explains what is included in your share, its approximate produce weight, and how many meaningful meal-building portions it may provide when paired with proteins, grains, eggs, beans, cheese, and other foods from your kitchen. You’ll also receive storage guidance, a suggested order for using the most delicate items first, one helpful prep task to begin the week, five flexible meal ideas, cooking instructions, and a featured recipe. “Use It Forward” tips show how one preparation can become several meals, while freezing and leftover guidance helps you enjoy more of the harvest and waste less food.

Meal Planning Estimates
Our meal counts are planning estimates designed to help you build meaningful portions from our farm-fresh harvest. These are not promises of complete meals, but rather a guide to pairing seasonal produce with the pantry staples you already have at home.

When We Eat,
We All Eat.
We believe we cannot be truly nourished while a neighbor down the street is going hungry. That belief is built into The Farm Route through mutual aid: every paid farm share helps provide fresh food for a local community member or family who needs it.
Across cultures and generations, people have understood that food is meant to be shared. Indigenous foodways emphasize reciprocity and caring for the whole community. African communal traditions remind us that our well-being is connected to the well-being of others. Christian and Islamic teachings call us to feed our neighbors and not remain full while others are hungry. The Earth abundantly provides for us. Modern mutual-aid movements continue this tradition through neighbors helping neighbors directly.
These shared values bring all of us to the same table. Customers are never asked to add another donation at checkout because giving back is not an extra program—it is part of how The Farm Route operates. Every purchase supports local farms, nourishes your household, and helps make fresh seasonal food more accessible throughout our community.
Our Promise: The Farm Route will provide 1 Community Share for every 10 shares sold.
